Trekking Information:
Trekking in Bhutan is very different from other parts of Himalayas. Here it is for serious trekking adventures, the trek range from low altitude (9,500 ft) to medium (10,500 ft) to very high (16,000 ft). A trek through the country side opens up a vistas of the sub-tropical forest over a high alpine passes and broad valleys with impressive Dzongs, and colorfully painted houses. Scattered all over the landscape. Also comes over exotic flora and fauna not seen anywhere else in the world.


GANGTEY / GOGONA TREK 9days 8nights
This trek is to the beautiful Phobjikha valley (3,000m), one of the few glacial valleys in Bhutan, which lies the mountains east of Wangduephodrang. After crossing over the pass you soon come to the great monastery of Gangtey, established in the 17th century. This quiet, remote valley is the chosen winter home of the rare black necked cranes, which migrate here annually from the Tibetan plateau. This moderate trek visits a village and rhododendrons are full bloom in April. It is one of the finest low level treks in Bhutan.

Season: the best time for this trek is March to May, and September to November. The best month is April and early May when the rhododendrons are in full bloom.

Arrive Paro
Day1. on arrival at Paro Airport, you will be meet by you Bhutan Men-Lha Adventures and Travelers representative, and transfer to Thimphu n completion of arrival formalities. O/N hotel in Thimphu.

Thimphu-Gangtey
Day2. After breakfast, morning tour in Thimphu, visiting Memorial Choten, Traditional Hospital, Painting School, Folk Heritage Museum, National Library. After lunch drive to Gangtey, for an about 5hours. En route cross Dochula Pass (3140m) and drive by WangduePhodrang Dzong. O/N Farm house or camp, Gangtey.

Gangtey Gompa-Gogona
Day3. Trek commences today. The trails wind gradually upwards through meadows and fields, ascending to Tsele La pass (3,400m) where we stop for lunch. The trail then descends gradually for some time through forests of Junipers, Bamboo, Magnolias and Rhododendrons. After a last short climb, we reach Gogona village,. The people of Gogona were originally nomads and they speak a language called Bjopkha (language of Namads). O/N in Camp.
Walking Distance: 16kms
Timing: 6-7hours

Gogona-Khotokha
Day4. Once again the trail wind up gently above Gogona village, climbing into a forest of Firs, Oak, Spruce, Rhododendron and Cypress. A long and gradually climb takes us up to Shobju-La Pass(3,400m). the path leads down to the wide vallt of Khotokha, where the people of Sha (a region of Wangduephodrang district) come in summer to graze their animals. O/N camp.
Walking distance: 17kms
Timing: 7hours

Khotokha-Chazam/Wangduephodrang.
Day5. A short ascent takes us to a pass, from which the path descends steeply through ever-changing vegetation till finally reaching the bridgeat wangduephodrang. The trek ends here. O/N at the hotel in Wangduephodrang.
Walking distance: 13kms
Timing: 5hours

WangduePhodrang and Punakha Sightseeing.
Day6. Morning after the leisure breakfast drive to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, consider as second oldest dzong in the country. It is built in between two rivers, Female River and Male River. Visit Chimi lhakhang (fertility Temple) built in 1649 by the Lama Ngawang Chogyal. The temple is founded by the divine Madman after subduing the demon dragged from the Dochula pass.
Lunch in the hotel and evening visit Wangduephodrang Dzong built in 1637. It is built on the cliff of two valleys. O/N at hotel in Wangduephodrang.

Wangduephodrang to Paro.
Day7. morning after breakfast drive to Paro via Thimphu the capital city of the Country. Lunch in Thimphu and continue your drive to Paro. O/N at hotel in Paro.

Paro Sightseeing.
Day8. morning visit National Museum, Paro Dzong and Dungtse Lhakhang and lunch in town and continue your sightseeing drive to the north to visit the ruin Drugyal Dzong, en route back visit Kyichu Lhakhang built in 659AD by Tibetan King. O/N Hotel in Paro.

Paro Departure.
Day9. Early breakfast drive to Paro Air Port for flight to onwards destination, enjoying superb mountain views from the Air Bus as you fly out of the valley.


DRUKPATH TREK
This is a short five days trek which leads from Paro to Thimphu or vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains the separate the two valleys. Although the route is sparely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fish and the area is famous which bloom in may. In the clear weather of Autumn and winter there are great views of the Himalayas.
Season: Late February to June and September to December.

Day1: Arrive in Paro an international Airport of the kingdom, receive by the representative of Men_lha Adventure Company and escort you to the hotel for the refreshment. In the after noon visit:
National Museum: Built in 1649 as a watchtower but in 1968 it was converted into National Museum by the Third King. 7storied Building in couch shape. One of the best museum in Asia.

Paro Dzong: Dzong is (Monastery Fortress in English). The person who unified Bhutan in 1616 called Zhabdrung Rinpoche built it in 1646. It survived the 1897 earthquake but a fire severely damaged the dzong in 1907. It is one of the most impressive and well known with finest example of Bhutanese Architecture.

Day 2: Sightseeing in an around Paro valley
Taktshang Monastery: this place was founded by the Precious Master (Guru Rinpoche) in 8th century (747AD) during his second visit to Bhutan. He has meditated for four month’s and founded this place as one of the most secret pilgrim site for Buddhist. It is also believe to be said that who ever visit this place once in their life will be counted as thousand time’s. After visiting this place can purified your sin that has been committed. It is about 5hours hike, if you complete the hiking in an around Monastery.

Dungtse Monastery: Built in 1421 by Famous Tibetan saint Thangthong Gyalpo also known as ChagzamPa, A famous iron chain bridge duilder. It contains most extraordinary frescoes painting in the Himalayan world. The temple is conceived as a Mandala( a mystic Cosmic diagram). Over night in hotel.

Day 3: Paro to Jele Dzong
Today is the short trekking day. The trail is rather gradual up till camp and if the weather is clear the Paro valley can be seen with snowcapped mountains behind. Over night camp. Walking distance: 6/7kms, 4-5hours. Altitude: 8500feets

Day 4: JeleDzong to Jangchuklalha
Begin with an hour and half climb and then ascend gradually up. The trail takes you through thick alpine forests and Rhododendrons. Your may see yak herders around your campsite. Over night camp. Walking distance: 10kms, 5hours
Altitude: 10000feets.

Day 5: Jangchuklakha to Jemelangtso
The trail follows the ridge on a clear day the views of the mountains and valley are sensational. Camp close to the lake of Jemelangtso. Thee lake are famous for their giant size trout’s. Over night camp near lake.
Walking distance: 11kms, 5hours. Altitude: 11,000feets.

Day 6: Jemelangtso to Simkota
The trail takes you through dwarf Rhododendrons trees and bypasses the lake of Jenetso. Today you may come across yak herders camp and get an idea how this people live. Camp near the Simkota Lake.
Walking distance: 10kms,5hours. Altitude: 10000feets.

Day 7: Simkota lake to Phajoding.
Gradually climb and if the weather permits you will have a Majestic view of Mount. Gangkarpuensum (highest peak of the Kingdom) and also other peaks. The trail slowly descends till you reach the phajoding Monastery.
Over night at camp.
Walking distance: 5hours

Day 8: Phajoding to Thimphu. The trail to Thimphu is all down hill through the blue pine forest. Taking a leisure pace can take about 3 hours to reach Thimphu (the capital city of the kingdom of Bhutan. Over night at hotel in Thimphu.)

Day 9: Sight seeing in an around Thimphu Valley
National Library: It is located to the west of the golf course. It was established in 1967 to preserve and promote religious and culture degradation from rapid modern development. It has 4500 English titles mainly on Buddhism. 3 baskets of Buddha teaching are in Burmese script and 50volume have Pali tipitaka in Devanagri script and it has 10,000 volumes of religious text. It also contents the world largest book with 7feet wide and 5feet tall.

Painting School: It is known as Zorig Chosum In Bhutan (Institute for thirteen Art’s). Where 13Art’s practiced in the Kingdom. It was established in 1971 to preserve its invaluable heritage. The institute offer six year’s course.

Heritage Museum: The museum content three-storied traditional rammed mud and timber. The museum showcase the traditional artifacts used now and in the past. It was recently inaugurated on 28th July 2001.

Textile Museum: It is located in the heart of the city, which gives you a fair Idea of the living national art of weaving. It was founded in 2000. Museum introduces the major weaving techniques and styles of local dress and textile made by the Bhutanese Women and man.

Traditional Hospital: The institute of traditional medicine service was established in 1967 as Indigenous Unit under the department of Health service. It promotes traditional system of medicine in the country. Conduct research and quality control of drugs. Provide alternative medicine as complementary to the allopathic system.

Memorial Chorten: This Memorial Chorten (Stupa) is the highlight of the capital city with its towering golden spires shining in the sun and its bell tinkling in the wind. This stupa was built in 1974 in the memory of 3rd King who passed away in 1972. Lunch in the local restaurant dinner at hotel and overnight. (Thimphu).

Day 10: Drive to Wangdue and Punakha Valley.
Punakha Valley and wangdue valley over Dochu-la Pass with 3140mtrs. Take a view of the eastern Himalayan Peaks. It is located at 1250mtrs, the size of the place surprising considering the role that punakha played in the history of the kingdom. It was the country’s capitals for 300yrs.The fertile punakha valley allows two rice crops an yrs. Orange’s and bananas is abundance.
Wangdue Valley: This is another valley, which is one of the largest districts in the Kingdom, which lies above 1350mtrs. Since it is located on an exposed promontory overlooking the river. The town here is very congested to make it wider, but the government has made the town plan on another side where people can make it wider.

Visit Punakha Dzong: this dzong was built in 1637and consider as a 2nd oldest dzong in the country. It covers the island at the confluence of the two rivers; as it lies in between two rivers that is believe as a male river and female river. It is also use as a winter residence for the monk body. The dzong has a very beautiful painting that has done after the renovation in 1999.

Hike to Fertility Temple: This monastery was built in 1456 by the cousin brother of Drukpa Kuenley (Divine Madman). A visible monastery on the hillock across the valley on the right side of the Punakha road. It is also known as the temple of the fertility. Those who visit the temple today will be blessed by the pairs of iron phallus and Arrow and bow, which were used by the Divine Mad Man Drukpa Kuenley. Driving distance: 3hours 77km

Day 11: Drive to Haa Valley
Haa valley lies above 2640mtrs from the see level. Here they grow only wheat and Potato. First school in Bhutan was opened in this valley.

Visit Temple in Haa: Lhakhang Karpo: It is also one among the 108 monasteries that was built by the Tibetan King (songtsen Geombo) in 659AD. It contents the status of the present Buddha Sakyamuni and the eight bodhisattva. At present it is use as a monastic school for the monk body. It lies in the beautiful Valley.
Lhakhang Nagpo: This monastery is in Black painting, which means black monastery. It was also built in the same year with the 108monasteries in 659AD. Inside the monastery you can still see the lake where one of the Tibetan King used to offer the holy water to God. Driving distance: 6hours, 150km.

Day 12: Haa to Paro Valley.
Drive to Paro Valley over chelela Pass with 3988mtrs. Take a view of the Northern Himalayan peaks, which are above 6500mtrs. Drive is through the dens forest of Pine, Spurs, Ever Green Oak and ETC. Evening leisure time for you to buy suvinour for yours friends of family. Over night at hotel. Driving distance: 3and half hours,66kms.

Day 13: You will be escort by the representative to Airport for your departure.


Dhur Hot Springs Trek 10days 9nights
This trek follows an old expedition route to Gangar Punsum.

Season: The recommended seasons are March, April and September to November.

Arrive Paro – Thimphu.
Day1. Arrive at Paro air port and you will be met by Bhutan Men-Lha Adventures and Travelers and take you for the refreshment to town. Lunch in the town and drive to Thimphu in the evening. O/N hotel in Thimphu.

Thimphu – Trongsa:
Day2. Morning after your breakfast drive to Trongsa across Dochula Pass at (3,140m) and Pelela Pass at(3,300m). En route lunch in Wangduephodrang and continue the drive to Trongsa. O/N hotel in Trongsa

Trongsa – Bumthang.
Day3. Morning visit Trongsa Dzong and the watchtower, that is converted into Museum. Continue your drive to Bumthang, Lunch in Bumthang and after lunch visit Kurjey Monastery, Jambay Lhakhang and Tamzhing Lhakhang. O/N hotel in Bumthang.

Bumthang – Gorsum.
Day4. After breakfast drive to the starting point for our trek, just beyond Kurjey Lhakhang. Our trail runs upstream along the Chamkhar Chu (River) a river known for its richness in trout fish. Camp at (3,120m)
Walking distance: 18kms, 7hours.

Gorsum – Lungsum.
Day5. Today’s walk takes through dense forests of spruce, hemlock, cypress, and Juniper and maple tress. The trail is rather muddy and ascends gradually to our campsite at (3,160m) O/N at camp.
Walking distance: 12kms, 5hours

Lung sum – Tshochenchen
Day6. The path ascends gradually through dense vegetation to Tshochenchen (3,400m) where we camp overnight.
Walking distance: 15km, 7hours

Tshochenchen – Dhurtshachu
Day7. We trek uphill from Tshochenchen to Juli-la Pass (4,400m). On a clear day, there is a good view of the surrounding mountains from here. After crossing the pass, we walk downhill till reaching our campsite at (3,300m). Mask deer, Himalayan Bears and blue sheep may see en route. O/N at camp.
Walking distance: 17kms, 7hours.

Dhurtshachu Rest day.
Day8. After breakfast relax in the hot spring or hike around the camp area.

Dhurtshachu – Gorsum.
Day9. Another early start, as we walk right through to Gorsum, the Path descends gradually through dense forest, and may be rather muddy in places after Lungsum. We camp over at Gorsum (3,120m).
Walking distance: 18km, 6hours.

Gorsum – Dhur(Motor Road) – Bumthang.
Day10. The trails follows the Cham khar chu (river) descending gradually to Dhur village, where Bhutan Men-Lha Adventures and Travelers Transport will meet you and drive to our lodge in Bumthang. Leisure in the afternoon. O/N hotel in Bumthang.
Walking distance: 9kms, 3hours.

Bumthang – Punakha.
Day7. Morning after your breakfast drive to Punakha with lunch en route. Visit Punakha Dzong in the evening and O/N hotel in Punakha.

Punakha – Paro
Day8. Morning drive to Paro via Thimphu. Visit Kyichu Lhakhang and Paro Dzong, National Museum. O/N hotel in Paro.

Paro – Hike to Taktshang Monastery Hike
Day9. One full day Taktshang Monastery Hike, this is one of the most scared religious site in the country. This monastery is built on the cliff above the paro valley with (700m). This site is founded by the Precious master in the 8th century and built in 1692. later in 1998 it was seriously damage by the fire and renovated. It is 5hour hike. You can also spend one whole day visiting near by monastery in this area.
O/N hotel in Paro.

Samtengang Winter Trek 9days 8nights

Season: it is possible to do this low altitude trek through the winter season.

Arrive Paro
Day1. On arrival at Paro Airport, you will be meeting by you Bhutan Men-Lha Adventures and Travelers representative, and transfer to Hotel in Paro. Afternoon Leisure O/N hotel in Paro.

Paro – Thimphu
Day2. Drive to Thimphu en route visit Tamchog Lhankhang, lunch in Thimphu, the Capital city of the Country. After lunch visit Painting school, National Library, Folk heritage museum and Thimphu Dzong. O/N at hotel in Thimphu

Thimphu – Punakha
Day3. Drive to Bhutan’s former capital Punakha, stopping briefly en route at Dochula Pass(3140m) to enjoy a panoramic views of snow capped eastern Himalayan peaks. Continue drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, second oldest Dzong in the Bhutan. After lunch take a short hike to visit Chimi Lhakhang located on the lock hill. O/N hotel in Punakha.

Punakha to Limukha
Day4. We cross the suspension bridge over the river by Punakha dzong and walk up to Shegana. Our trek begins from there with a gradual climb up through Chirpine forest to Limukha, visiting Dompala village en route. Camp near limukha village at about (1,800m).
Walking distance: 14km, 6hours.

Limukha – Chungsakha
Day5. The trail takes us downhill through Rhododendron and oak forested areas. En route we visit a famous temple used as a winter residence by Lama Druk pa Kuenley in the 15th century. Camp near Chungsakha village.
Walking distance: 15kms, 6hours.

Chungsakha – Samtengang.
Day6. The trail leads us down and across Pe-chu river, then up the hillside to sha village is the sha region of Wangduephodrang district. We continue on upwards and camp by the lakeside at samtengang.
Walking distance: 13kms, 5hours.

Samtengang – Wangduephodrang.
Day7. We follow the trail downhill to the motor road near Chuzomsa, where we will meet the Transportation and transferred to Wangduephodrang. After Lunch continue drive to Paro and O/N hotel in Paro. Walking distance: 6kms, 3hours.
Driving Distance: 4-5hours.

Paro – Hike to Taktshang Monastery Hike

BEAUTIFUL CHHOMOLHARI TREK

Starting at drugyal dzong, Paro, this trek passes through scattered hamlets and farm land, into a deep and richly forested valleys, which leads to a high alpine pastureland where yak herders graze their animals. The trek offers a taste of great variety of Bhutanese landscape.
Season:
April to June and September to November.

Day1: The flight in Paro is one of the most specticular of all mountain flights. One can see Mount. Everest, Kanchenjanga, Makula and other peaks in Bhutansuch as Jhomolhari, Jitchu Drakey and Tsherim Gang. The first gift from Bhutan will be cool, clean fresh air as you step out of the airplane. Receive you by the representative from Men-Lha Adventure Company and transfer you to Hotel in Paro. Altitude: 2280mtrs.

Kychu monastery: Built in 659AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Geompo to pin down the Ogress.
The construction of Kychu Monastery in Paro and Jambasy Monastery in Bumtang (central Bhutan) first put Bhutan on the Buddhist Map. Dinner and over night at hotel in Paro.

Day 3: Paro to Gunetsawa
The trek starts from Drugyal dzong at 2580mtrs with a short walk on wide trails. The trails climb gently traversing through well-maintained rice terraces and fields of millets. The route later enters an area of apple orchard and forests. Soon the valley widens and you reach the Army post of Gunetsawa at 2810mtrs. This the last stop before Tibet. At 2870mtrs just beyond the Shana Zampa you will camp near by the river. Over night camp.
Walking distance: 5/6hours, 17kms.

Day 4: Shana to Soi-Thang thang ka
The trail again follows the Paro river ascending and descending through pine, oak and spruce forests. Hot lunch or pack lunch will be serve after crossing the bridge on the left hand side. After lunch, follow the river climbing up through rhododendrons forests and finally crossing the bridge again reaching the campsite at the altitude of 3750mtrs. Walking distance: 8/9hours, 20kms.

Day 5: Thangthangka to Jangothang(Base camp of Mount.Chomolhari).
The path ascends for a while till you reach the army camp. Then follow the river above the tree line enjoying the stunning views of surrounding peaks. Lunch on the way and continue your walk. A short distance walk into the valley will take you into the campsite of Jangothang at 4040mtrs. Over night camp. Walking distance: 7hours, 19kms.

Day 6: Jangothang halt
Cleaning day and make a short day hike to the glacier near the Chomolhari mountain. Over night camp.

Day 7: Jangothang to Lingshi valley
The trail follows the stream for half an hour and crosses the wooden bridge on right side. Start the climb uphill with breathtaking view of Chomolhari, Jitsu Drakey and Tserim gang. The walks towards the valley, almost flat for a while, until the climb to the Nyelela pass at an altitude of 4700mtrs. After the pass gradually descents to the lingshi cam, enjoying the panoramic view of Lingshi Dzong. Over night camp at the altitude of 4000mtrs.
Walking distance: 7/8hours, 18kms.

Day 8: Lingshi to Shodow
The trek route climbs towards a small white chorten on a ridge above the camp. Turns south up the deep Mochu valley. The trails stay on the west side of the largely treeless valley, climbing steadily a short distance above Mo-chu valley. You will be crossing Yali la pass 4820mtrs. Descends alongside a stream to a shelter, then further fownstream to a camp site(4100mtrs).
Walking distance: 8/9hours,22kms.

Day 9: Shodow to Barshong.
At this place, one comes back to tree line. The path follows the Thimphu River, descending through rhododendrons, Juniper and other alpine forests. The view of the cliff facing rocks and waterfalls is stunning. Lunch on the way and continue your walk following the Thimphu river. Over night camp at 3600mtrs.
Walking distance: 6/7hours, 15kms.

Day 10: Barshong to Dolomkencho
The trail descends through a dense forest of rhododendron, birch and Conifers, then drops steeply to meet Thimphu Chu. It stays on river left, climbing over the ridge and descending to side streams. Camp in among pastureland at 3600mtrs.
Walking distance: 5/6hours, 15kms.

Day 11: DolomKencho to Dodena
The trail goes in and out of side valley above Thimphu Chu (river), making a long ascents through a forest of conifers and high altitude broadleaf species to a pass at 3510mtrs. The trail then drops steeply to the river and follow it southward to the road head at Dodena 2600mtrs. The trek end here and with the beautiful memories with you. Over night at Hotel in Thimphu.

Day 12: Sightseeing in and around Thimphu valley

Day 13: Drive to Paro via Haa valley
.Lhakhang Karpo: It is also one among the 108monasteries that was built by the Tibetan King (songtsen Geombo) in 659AD. It contents the status of the present Buddha sakyamuni and the eight bodhisattva. At present it is use as a monastic school for the monk body. It lies in the beautiful Valley.
Lhakhang Nagpo: This monastery is in Black painting, which means black monastery. It was build in the same year with the 108monasteries in 659AD. Inside the monastery, you can still see the lake where one of the Tibetan King used to offer the holy water to God.
Driving distance: 6hours. 150kms.

Day14: You will escort to an international airport of the kingdom by the representative of Men-Lha Adventure & Travelers.


LAYA GASA BEAUTIFUL HIMALAYA TREK

This trek offers a great variety of trekking conditions, from picturesque farmland and forests to alpine pastureland and high pass. Season: April to June and mid September to November.

Day1: The flight in Paro is one of the most specticular of all mountain flights. One can see Mount. Everest, Kanchenjanga, Makula, and peaks in Bhutansuch as Jhomolhari, Jitchu Drakey and Tsherim Gang. The first gift from Bhutan will be cool, clean fresh air as you step out of the airplane. Receive you by the representative from Men-Lha Adventure Company and transfer you to Hotel in Paro. Altitude: 2280mtrs.

National Museum: Built in 1649 as a watchtower but in 1968 it was converting into National Museum by the Third King. 7 storied Building in couch shape. One of the best museum in Asia.
Paro Dzong: Dzong is (Monastery Fortress in English). The person who unified Bhutan in 1616 called Zhabdrung Rinpoche built it in 1646. It survived the 1897 earthquake but a fire severely damaged the dzong in 1907. It is one of the most impressive and well known with finest example of Bhutanese Architecture.

Day 2: sight seeing in an around Paro Valley

Taktshang Monastery: the Precious Master (Guru Rinpoche) founded this place in 8th century (747AD) during his second visit to Bhutan. He has meditated for four month has and founded this place as one of the most secret pilgrim site for Buddhist. It is also believe to be said that who ever visit this place once in their life will be counted as thousand time’s. After visit this place can purified your sin that has been committed. It is about 5hours hike, if you complete the hiking in an around Monastery.
Dungtse Monastery: Built in 1421 by Famous Tibetan saint Thangthong Gyalpo also known as ChagzamPa, A famous iron chain bridge duilder. It contains most extraordinary frescoes painting in the Himalayan world. The temple is conceived as a Mandala( a mystic Cosmic diagram). Over night in hotel.
Kychu monastery: Built in 659 AD by the Tibetan King Songtsen Geompo to pin down the Ogress. The construction of Kychu Monastery in Paro and Jambasy Monastery in Bumtang (central Bhutan) first put Bhutan on the Buddhist Map. Dinner and over night at hotel in Paro.

Day 3: Paro to Gunetsawa
The trek starts from Drugyal dzong at 2580mtrs with a short walk on wide trails. The trails climb gently traversing through well maintain rice terraces and fields of millets. The route later enters an area of apple orchard and forests. Soon the valley widens and you reach the Army post of Gunetsawa at 2810mtrs. This the last stop before Tibet. At 2870mtrs just beyond the Shana Zampa you will camp near by the river. Over night camp. Walking distance: 5/6hours, 17kms.

Day 4: Shana to Soi-Thang thang ka
The trail again follows the Paro river ascending and descending through pine, oak and spruce forests. Hot lunch or pack lunch will be serving after crossing the bridge on the left hand side. After lunch, follow the river climbing up through rhododendrons forests and finally crossing the bridge again reaching the campsite at the altitude of 3750mtrs. Walking distance: 8/9hours, 20kms.

Day 5: Thangthangka to Jangothang (Base camp of Mount. Chomolhari)
The path ascends for a while till you reach the army camp. Then follow the river above the tree line enjoying the stunning views of surrounding peaks. Lunch on the way and continue your walk. A short distance walk into the valley will take you into the campsite of Jangothang at 4040mtrs. Over night camp. Walking distance: 7hours, 19kms.

Day 6: Jangothang halt
Cleaning day and make a short day hike to the glacier near the Chomolhari mountain. Over night camp.

Day 7: Jangothang to Lingshi valley
The trail follows the stream for half an hour and crosses the wooden bridge on right side. Start the climb uphill with breathtaking view of Chomolhari, Jitsu Drakey and Tserim gang. The walk towards the valley, almost flat for a while, until the climb to the Nyelela passes at an altitude of 4700mtrs. After the pass gradually descend to the lingshi cam, enjoying the panoramic view of Lingshi Dzong. Over night camp at the altitude of 4000mtrs.
Walking distance: 7/8hours,18kms.

Day 8: Lingshi to Chebisa
Proceed ahead passing Lingshi Dzong, Preach on the hilltop with the command view of green hills. The Winding River and magnificent peaks. It is an easy day and pleasant walk through the village and yak herders’ camp. After lunch short walk will take you to the Chebisa village. Camp by the side of the stream at the altitude of 3850mtrs.
Walking distance: 5/6hours, 10km.

Day 9: Chebisa to Shomuthang
Today the trail began with a stiff climb up a ridge to Gubu la pass at an altitude of 4500mtrs, taking nearly 4 hours. After crossing, a pass descends to a lunch stop, through Rhododendrons bushes. After lunch continue your walk along the up and down path, after crossing the stream, through rhododendron forests and yak herders camp. You may also see the herd of Blue sheep now and then. Over night camp at altitude 4250mtrs.
Walking distance: 6/7hours, 17kms

Day 10: Shomuthang to Robluthang
The trek starts with a climb to Jari la pass at the altitude 4700mtrs. Then descends to Tasharijathang valley, the summer residence of rare Himalayan takin(national Animal) of Bhutan. From here, we may have to cross the stream most of the time the footbridge is washes away. After crossing the stream towards the left the trail ascends till you reach the campsite in Robluthang at an altitude 4200mtrs. Over night camp.
Walking distance: 6/7hours, 18kms

Day11: Robluthang to Limethang
It is along climb up to Shingjela pass 4900mtrs. The view of the mountains from the path is stunning. After the pass descends to Limethang. The path is quite narrow and you may have to cross the stream again and get wet. The last part of the trek is very interesting with the view of the Mount. Gangchen Ta(tiger mountain). Over night camp at an altitude 4100mtrs.
Walking distance: 7/8hours, 19kms.

Day12: Limethang to Laya
The morning you wake up with a superb view of the Mount. GangchenTa in front of you. The walk to Laya is very pleasant with wonderful views. You will pass through the damp forests, filled with mass and singing birds. Over night camp at an altitude 3800mtrs.
Walking distance: 4/5hours, 10kms

Day13: Laya Halt
Explore in an around Laya Village. You can also visit the local houses and witness the cultural show performs by the local young ladies. Over night camp.

Day14: Laya to Chamsa
Descends to Army camp and Join the Mochu (Female River) of Punakha. Follow the river till you cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge will be up and down several times through Juniper and Fir forests till you reach the camp. Over night camp at an altitude of 3800mtrs.
Walking distance: 8/9hours, 19kms.

Day15: Chamsa to Gasa
Walk for over half an hour on the flat land till you reach the Belela Pass. Its down hill all the way to Gasa, Lunch at Gasa Village at the altitude of 2700mtrs. After lunch visit the Dzong in Gasa and stroll in an around Gasa Village. The evenings descend to Gasa Tshachu (hot spring) for camp at 2200mtrs.
Walking distance: 6/7hours,14kms.

Day16: Gasa Halt
After a long trek, this is the place to relax and enjoy the hot bath and local beer that can be procured here.

Day17: Gasa to Damji
The path continue ascending and descending through heavily forested areas and wild orchids. In this area, there are leeches so one must be careful. Over night camp at an altitude of 2400mtrs.
Walking distance: 5/6hours,18kms

Day 18: Damji to Tashithang(Punakha)
It is the last day trekking continue following the river (mo-chu) Female river down heavily forested area till you reach Tashithang at an altitude of 1620mtrs. The Men-Lha transportation will be waiting to drive you to Punakha Valley for over night. Over night at Hotel in Punakha 1250mtrs.
Walking distance: 5/6hours, 16kms.

Day19: Sightseeing in an around Punakha and Wangdue Valley
Visit Punakha Dzong: this dzong was built in 1637and consider as a 2nd oldest dzong in the country. It covers the island at the confluence of the two rivers; as it lies in between two rivers that is believe as a male river and female river. It is also use as a winter residence for the monk body. The dzong has a very beautiful painting that has done after the renovatition 1999.
Hike to Fertility Temple: the cousin brother of Drukpa Kuenley (Divine Madman) built this monastery in 1456. A visible monastery over the hillock across the valley on the right side of Punakha road. It is call as the temple of the fertility. Those who visit the temple today will be blesses by the pairs of iron phallus, Arrow and bow, which were use by the Divine Mad Man Drukpa Kuenley. Driving distance: 3hours 77km

Wangdue Dzong: The position of the dzong is remarkable as it completely covers the spur and commend an impressive view over both the north,-south and east-west highway. The dzong was built in 1638 and consider as 3rd oldest dzong in Bhutan. Over night and dinner at Hotel.

Day20: Drive to Thimphu the Capital City of the Kingdom.Thimphu). Thimphu valley is located at an altitude of 2320m. It is the capital city of Bhutan (the Himalayan. Kingdom. The construction of the of the new motor road from Phuntsholing (India Border) to Thimphu (capital City) prompted this noble thought. This is only the capital city without traffic light in the world. Capital of Kingdom (Thimphu). The population is about 50,000. The population is increasing each year due to rural-urban migration.
Visit the following places in the Thimphu
National Library: It is located to the west of the golf course. It was establish in 1967 to preserve and promote religious and culture degradation from rapid modern development. It has 4500 English titles mainly on Buddhism. 3 baskets of Buddha teaching are in Burmese script and 50volume have Pali tipitaka in Devanagri script and it has 10,000 volumes of religious text. It also contents the world largest book with 7feet wide and 5feet tall.
Painting School: It is known as Zorig Chosum In Bhutan (Institute for thirteen Art’s). Where 13Art’s practiced in the Kingdom. It was establish in 1971 to preserve its invaluable heritage. The institute offer six year’s course.
Heritage Museum: The museum content three-storey traditional rammed mud and timber. The museum showcase the traditional artifacts used now and in the past. It was recently inaugurated on 28th July 2001.
Textile Museum: It is located in the heart of the city, which gives you a fair Idea of the living national art of weaving. It was found in 2000. Museum introduces the major weaving techniques and styles of local dress and textile made by the Bhutanese Women and man.
Traditional Hospital: The institute of traditional medicine service was establishing in 1967 as Indigenous Unit under the department of Health service. It promotes traditional system of medicine in the country. Conduct research and quality control of drugs. Provide alternative medicine as complementary to the allopathic system.
Memorial Chorten: This Memorial Chorten (Stupa) is the highlight of the capital city with its towering golden spires shining in the sun and its bell tinkling in the wind. This stupa was built in 1974 in the memory of 3rd King who passed away in 1972. Lunch in the local restaurant dinner at hotel and overnight. (Thimphu).
Driving distance: Two and half Hours. 65Km.

Day21: Drive to Paro via Haa valley
Haa valley lies above 2640mtrs from the see level. Here they grow only wheat and Potato. First school in Bhutan was opened in this valley. Lunch at local restaurant in Haa Valley and continue the drive to Paro across chelela Pass 3988mtrs.
